Hi. I would like to have my spring plate back to my pan.
New paint, new bushings.I made a mark with a saw to match each spring plate with its torsion's bar.....but after sandblasting my mark on the pan is no more visible.
Perhaps one of you have a picture or an angle to give me.
You know just before pushing the plate up, in pression.
I don't want a BAJA or lowered split.
Sorry for "my english".
No other split here, in Reunion island to help me. Thank you for any help.
Yannick.

I am at the same juncture you are right now. Except I am putting the car back together that was already disassembled (never do that one again). I had the information and I think it was something like 7 degrees. I'll go take a look.

I was wondering how you were approaching the problem of loading your tension on the plates. Are you using some kind of Torsioin tool or have another way? I wanted to load my spring plates but was told it was hard to do if your car isn't bolted together. Any suggestions?

I have to modify an old VW jack. Can't find a pic to help you.
But I have to weld a bolt to the top of the jack and glue a rubber to the part that usualy goes in the pan.
you have to put the welded bolt in the hole for the rear shock (in your pan) and with the level of your jack you can load your spring plate in place.
Theory...I need time to do it.
But to begin I have to get the right position when not loaded.
Have a nice day Gary.
