Hey, I am not really a type 3 guy, but I was looking through Ebay today when I found this nice looking squareback, upon looking through the pics, I looked at the pic of the floor shifter for the automatic, check it out:

I thought it was weird that the automatic didn't have a "D" it just has a 1,2,3. Could someone shed some light on this? |

thats how they came :) kind of strange but true .other euro cars are like that too. remember drive in german is a different word 3 is universal

It is a 3 speed automatic. What is weird about that. If D = Drive, does R = Race?? J/k
I don't see any major issues with the car, but right now the price seems it is selling about where it should. $3K. |

what's cool is that on the square, neutral is N... check out my notch's automatic... neutral is 0. anybody know when that changed?

Yes, just like any other automatic. Or, if you want, you can start in 1 and shift it up and down manually. Just don't over rev the engine. |
