| With what you'd pay to ship one or more of those back to the states, you could buy the green 51 on eBay. |

How do you figure? It would cost probably $1000-$1500 to get that car into the states. |

| After being burned by idiots in South America, I won't be bidding on those cars. The postal system is organized crime and full of fraud. I would not trust any way in moving money down there. |

My bank here in the UK did the transfer for my Brasilian purchase. Transferring the money to South America is not the problem. The problem is, like all Internet transactions is will the seller send the goods and are the goods "as described".
Sorry you got "burned" Bob but that can happen anywhere  |

| I understand Bob's hesitation. Any business deals that go down south of the US border are going to always be subject to concern as long as the history of open coruption is around. I know mexico is different than brasil is different than columbia, is different than...... I also know you can get screwed in any country or nationality. Its just that there is less to protect yourself with than lets say...US, Germany, UK, Canada, Japan, Etc.... I know no one here would do business with Nigeria, right??? (I hope). Sucks, but it is the truth. If people from these regions are tired of the stereotypes than it is up to them to change it. Not everyone else. |

Yeah I have to say I don't think I would have undertaken the Brasilian transaction if I hadn't met the seller, seen the bus and had a couple of fiends on the spot to back me up.
Even then there were a couple of "panic moments" when I thought things could go wrong but more from misunderstandings with the language rather than real problems.
You really need reliable contacts when dealing with perceived "problem areas". |

Here's a perfect example: I bought from this guy over a year ago, he claimed he never got the money but I had a registered letter that said he did........he said it was the post office who received it and not him. I never got the part and he has since changed his eBay name. Most of what he sells are reproductions or for other cars, yet he will never states that in the ad. Go ahead and risk your money, take the chance........all I know is I have never been burned by anyone on eBay with the exception of the "Boys from Brazil."
