Does anyone know which years this dash is correct for?

jimmynotch Wed Feb 01, 2006 1:53 pm

'67 and newer? It will 'fit' them all, but it doesn't have the 'ears' to match up with early (66 and older) door trim. Not 100% sure about its year correctness...

M113 Wed Feb 01, 2006 1:56 pm

I think it would be 66-69? Will fit all 61-69, but would be very incorrect for 61-63, and 64-65 S models. Would look fine in a 64-65 N model, but I think the speaker grill would still be incorrect.

Hopefully someone else can confirm what I wrote here to be 100%

is it for sale? if so PM me the price It is what I need for my 69 fastback

Bobnotch Wed Feb 01, 2006 2:38 pm

It should fit from 66 to 70. Yes, 70 was the last year for that style of pad. I still have the old cracked one out of my wife's 70 Fastback. :D The newer repops (that don't fit worth a crap ) are of the 71 to 73 design. That dash pad looks beautiful though, nice score. 8)

Thats the nos one for sale in the classys for $500. Some one better snatch it before I do.

mmmm... NOS dashpad.... imagine what an NOS wrap-around would be worth.

that's a nice dash at a good price... if we had it for sale it would be more then the $500

Thank you everyone.

Not so fast. 1966 thru 1970. 71 started with the newer style Through 1965 "S" cars had the wraparound dash, but not '66. And if I'm not mistaken, would this not also be correct for pre '66 "N" models?

M113 Sat Feb 04, 2006 11:51 pm

I am in no way being a vintage nazi, just pointing out some things for those that may want to know. I think the dash is for 66-70 as stated above and will work for all models and looks great in an N model.

For accuracy though the "N" model dash would have no "wrap" and the speaker grill would have no solid bar where the tiny holes are as seen in this picture of the 64 N notch in the gallery.

Other than that I would say that dash is better than a correct cracked dash!!!

Come on Tram I just posted those N pics giving, did I say...giving you the answer. Stop waisting time in other forums and comb through these here more often

Seriously though, that N thread was meant to be an education tool as m113 pointed out.

What year was the non screw crimp bar type pad introduced? 72-73??

One last question about dash IDs. I have two similar looking dashes. what are they correct for? BTW, neither is Spock-ear.

The one at the top of the pics (solid grill) has a reinforcement under it, while the other (line thru grill) is soft and rubbery.

I have a 64"s" with what appears to be it's original dash, it is a "wrap around" and has NO bar between speaker. After seeing this forum I had to brave the elements to take a closer look at my dash, I just recently bought a pad for a 66-70 after being told it was for 65 :? bummah

The Samba member who had the dash on hold backed out at the last minute so it's still up for sale. Here's the ad.

FASTBACKDON Thu Feb 09, 2006 7:21 pm

I hope your not thinking I had it on hold all I asked was what the price was I did not know it was NOS and/or for sale I believe you told me there was someone else ahead of my inquiry and I had 2nd shot that IS a Beautful dash I will admit but way out of my price range
