Can anyone tell me when Bosch changed the design of the early caps, from the style with the raised ridge for the coil lead, to the completly flat top design?
How rare are these caps with the centre ridge?

| The caps with the raised finger were used on very early cars. I'd say 1943-48. I know my car has one. I haven't seen any Red NOS ones 4-sale, but there are a few Black NOS ones changing hands for about $75-$100 |

It's not as rough as you think. I have the correct fuel pump, HuF carb, Knecht aircleaner, generator etc... I even got 2 sets of NOS p/c's. It's totally complete and is original to my car. The case is made of Aluminum as it is very Silvery in appearance. |

Unknown. Figured I would try to learn before I asked him a number. He brought it up out of the blue so I suspect he's proud of it. |

Keep in mind that just becasue the endcastings have the cogwheel logo, it is not necessarily a KDF era manufacture. VW used cogwheel logo endcastings on 25 hp intakes in tot he 50s. I have a K with them, and also a jacketed K with them. And we know the jacketed K wasn't used until March of '50.
Some people call anything with a cogwheel logo a "KDF" part..... |

No. The inside of the original door handles of my split have the cogwheel on them - the car is a 51. |
