I cannot install the quarter window seals. They are the type that accept the aluminum trim from West Coast Metric (the good stuff, right?)
The windshield & rears went in, no problem. I used silicone spray and the proper technique for installing glass. It seams as though the rubber is thicker than the OG's that came of the split. When I push the bottom in, the top pops out and vise versa. I used enough brut force to nearly break the glass too. I cannot even get it close enough to pull the cord. Can anyone suggest what my problem is, and more importantly where to purchase good quarter window seals that wont give me this trouble?? Thanks for the help in advance! |

| I've been told that the rubber for Pre '52 cars is actually smaller & thinner in size when compared to 1953-64 cars. Maybe you got some of the later stuff? |

| MAKE SURE you don't have the seal upside down. See http://thebugshop.org/bsp57_20.htm It is possible to mistake the trim strip seal for the glass seal and vice versa!!! |

| I definitely have the rubber seal on correctly. The car is a pre-zwitter crotch cooler split July 52'. What is weird is that the seal is correct as per various vw suppliers, however it does not fit my car. They list the rubber for 46 through 64. This is incorrect. I ordered rubber that is thinner and does not accept trim from West Coast Metric. I really did not want to break my og sekurit! |

Which is it, trim or no trim? If it's no trim, you should have order part #221845321 |

| if i am not mistaken, the correct seal for your car is the same as a bus stationary side window seal. |
