I found out that when a thread is deleted while you are reading it, when you try and post you get this statement.

"Sorry, but only can reply to posts in this forum."

EverettB Thu Feb 09, 2006 8:27 pm

Yes, that is correct.

emersonbiggins Thu Feb 09, 2006 8:30 pm

You changed it to

"Sorry, but only moderators can reply to posts in this forum."

3 times I tried to post right at the time I think the threads were deleted.

That's when you catch it in time when the system is moving it to the Moderator Abuse forum. Top Secret :-S

There must be a secret place around here! Even on the Gallery Page there is a listing for "Public Categories". Where is the private gallery?

My solution is to not respond to posts that can be expect to be deleted.

I have read all the rules on deleted posts...........now I would like the 'secret' rules. Why are posts being deleted when they do not qualify under any posted guideline. :? And I know you know what I mean. :?

Quote: DON'T abuse site members on the forums, or through email or private messages
DON'T post complaints about a forum or moderator; contact Everett privately

I see it's not exactly spelled out in the rules but as I have said numerous times before:
Quote: Threads created for the sole purpose of attacking other members can expect to be deleted.

KCW/DBD/etc. threads are played out to the extreme. Don't be so 2005.

You need to wake up.........Have you seen the new Volksworld? The March 2006 edition? What's your problem with a current discussion? I didn't mention any of the previous events. All I want is a discussion about the new Hoodride statement. What are you so afraid of? Why are so uptight about this.......it's not like you and it should not be the direction of the forum. Have I missed something here?

Discussion? There was no discussion. It was just a string of insults.

Don't trust anything you read in print.

There are no private gallery areas.

Not from me.........How about we try again tomorrow night? You explain the rules and let someone else moderate it. :?

I updated the rules to clarify a few points.

There are many moderators, some more lenient than others. 8)

Reason threads are deleted:
<snip>
"Threads created to attack another member or just to start an argument"

Even though this is clearly spelled out as one of the main Rant rules, I don't understand why it still seems to be the thread type that the most people complain about getting deleted in the rants.

I saw on a different site that instead of deleting bad threads the mods "not vespa rider kind" would clean it up and call it an "overclocked thread" and lock it. That way the new post would have a record of the subject and be a repost. forever. To futher educate upsetness. Said person could reread as many times as he needs to get the point. IMHO.
Ps for clarity there is whole section on the site devoted to "overclocked threads"

EverettB Sun Feb 12, 2006 8:24 pm

In my experience, people just started new threads to respond to the locked threads.
