I have a weber 32/36 carb with electric choke. I have some questions regarding how the system works. First off, when the choke element is cold, the choke plate retracts. With the ignition key on, when first starting a vehicle, you press on the accelerator pedal once which closes the choke plate to almost fully closed. The linkage for the fast idle cam also sets. Now as the 12volt power heats the element, the choke plate starts to open. When the choke plate is fully open and you tap the pedal, the idle goes from high to normal. Is the choke diaphragm supposed to do this automatically if you do not tap the pedal?
Does this take place at the same time when the choke plate fully opens?
