I have a 1990 16 valve Passat went to the car wash yesterday and noticed a gassy smell coming from the Pass. rear wheel area. Crawled under a saw some fuel dripping from this round thing where the fuel line connects. It has a fuel line running/attached to it. I dont have a bentley manual so I am not sure what it is. Its after the fuel filter running toward the motor. Could a clogged fuel filter be causing this or is it just from the obvious rust thats there? I have looked around but cant seem to find any related info. Also I am trying to load in a photo of it. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks |

| Looks like the fuel filter, but the picture is rather small. |

| I know the fuel filter is a pretty big silver canister, and is down the other way on the fuel line going toward the tank. This is after it going toward the front of the car/motor. Its in a similar spot compared to where I have an inline fuel filter on my 81 Vanagon. Thanks |

Fuel pressure accumulator is what that part is called.
www.germanautoparts.com keeps OEM ones in stock; ask about it when you call for the 02 sensor. 8) |
