Ragman wrote: thanks bk63...using a couple dollies (body hammers) you can straight out the aprons around the bumper holes. I had to bang out some dents in them too...good luck with your clip.
I'm going to the classic this week, so here's the last update for awhile...

I found a 67 Baja and after seeing what you did I think I will do the same.. Always good to save another bug. Think it to can be saved?

Thanks for the props everybody. Sometimes its the positive comments and reactions I get that keep me going back out to my garage.
Vintagevolks, I know that one could be fixed. But that doesn't always mean it should be. Lots of factors....
I picked up this 67 baja along with two 67 parts cars. So, I had a couple parts cars to pull it off. Without those, it would have been much more difficult. The main things you're going to need are aprons/clips, fenders, hood, and decklid. If you pick all that stuff up for cheap, then maybe it would be worth your time.
Do you plan on doing the work yourself? or pay someone else? I don't think this would have been a good project to pay someone to do as it would have probably cost too much. |
