Hi,
Trying this post again to see if anyone has any suggestions:
Can anyone recommend a body-work-person/place in the Los Angeles area who does good work on old bugs for a reasonable amount of $$?
Just got an estimate from a bug-only body shop in Downey for my rear-ended 65... A whopping $800! (I knew these guys were good, and expensive, but man, that's a lot of $$$, isn't it?). They listed labor as $450 (pull it out, put on new parts, primer it), and parts as $350 (2 fenders, a decklid, full rear clip, and hinges)... They said I could bring my own parts to save $ -- which I will do when and if I find all I need on Samba or somewhere else. There are pictures of the damage in the gallery -- the only pictures I have in there.
Any suggestions?
