I have the trigger shifter in my 64 T1 and want to put a stock one back in it. I know the earlier beetles have a curved shifter. Is there certain style that I need or do all stock shifters work? Thanks guys. |

I believe the correct one for a 64 would be the one with the 7mm knob, as opposed to the older 10mm ones. But I do think some older ones will work too. |

Juan is correct. The shifter you're looking for is curved. Starts at a wide 10mm at the base but tapers slowly and ends with a 7mm tip where the knob attaches |

Before I ship it to him...this came out of a '64. Its curved but, the threads seem large? The threads are slightly larger than that of my '60. BFY catalog says 62-67 should be 7mm, which seems way small, also should it be hollow?

7mm is correct for 64, just like that one but thinner at the top. |

So does anyone have a photo of the correct one? The '68 and laters are straight, not curved, so what model is this one from? :? |

Late Oval-era? I had the same one in my '57, curved with 10mm knob threads. |

If the shifter is hollow, it's a cheap replacement. The shaft should be soild |
