My first reply after nearly 5 weeks! Thank you!
You'll find Skye, etc. (here's a taster: http://www.10000things.org.uk/images/westVI19.jpg) amongst the other "Adventures" and one day I'll get around to publishing a trip we did to the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides) as well. |

| On our last trip to France we did 3,468 miles in three weeks and every time we go to Europe we say we'll keep the mileage down this time, but around the next bend there's always something else to see, isn't there. (Notice that like a true Brit I think that Europe is somewhere other than where I live). And it's odd that you should mention Newfoundland - I've been reading that within 50yrs we're likely to have a climate like theirs. |

We added 2800 miles in 2004, and 2600 miles in 2005 with our 1967 SO42 during the holidays in France.
And what you say is sooo true .. when you're there you just want to see more of the country with their little
white and yellow (on the map) D-roads, and before you know it, you're 1000 miles from home !! :P
2004; begin of the Mont Blanc massif
2005; Millau bridge
Love you're pictures, looking forward for the 2006 ones !! |

Isn't that bridge beyond amazing! The French really do know how to show off, don't they.
Now I've got the digital camera I want to repeat every trip we've ever done. |

nice to hear from someone who doesn't spend their trip on autoroutes and comes home with exciting stories of the lovely service areas they slept in. |

We always take the RN's and D-roads when we are in France (or Switzerland 2004, visit the Chateaux d'Oeux
meeting), and after a week or two we find out that we're 100's of miles from home, and only have 3 to 4 days
to travel home.
So on our way back home we mostly take autoroutes, but most of the miles we're driving on small country roads.
This year -first 3 weeks of July- things will be different, because my wife will be 33 weeks pregnant, and due to the
stifness of our lowered and narrowed SO42, she demanded that i take some nice, flat and comfy roads
Our actualy plan for 2006 was the Norkapp in Norway, or Scotland/ Ireland, but plans had to change because she
became pregnant of our second child. :D |
