Is there a tool or way to figure out my compression ratio? I bought my bug a year ago and I didn't ask the guy about the specifics inside the engine, so I don't really even know what I have...I know, horrible of me

You need to know the bore, stroke, Deck height and combustion chamber volume. Then plug it all in here...

Assuming a relatively stock engine an average of .050-.060" deck and 52-57cc chambers is commonplace. You could be looking at anything in between 7.2:1 to 7.9:1. Just a guess though...
