So the early bay overriders aren't location specific (FR, FL, RR, RL) like the late bay ones. Clears up another area of occasional confusion. Good work.
i would think that trying to find nos overriders would be a pretty rare event ;-) not rare when the buses where new, but rare now that's for sure?
oh wait their the late bay ones? |

I had a guy here from Belgium 2 months ago in a 68 tin top and he said thay are hot in europe sence thay are a US thing. He had a euro hitch on his westy I tryed to talk him out of. I almost got it but he backed out at the last minite.

Ok, this may not be too rare...it's a just a casco lighter from a '74.
What makes it rare is, IT'S NEVER BEEN USED! 36 years and never seen a cigarette or a joint. That boggles my mind.

Anchovy wrote: Here are a set of NOS VWoA bumper guards for 1968 through 1972. They came with the installation instructions and adhesive mounting decals. I scanned one of the decals. The decal is 11 inches long.
The instructions say to mount the over-riders on the outer carriage bolt of the front and rear bumper. This clears up the controversy of whether they should be on the inner or outer bolts on the front.
This set has what appears to be original rubber bumpers since they fit perfectly (unlike reproductions) but they are not marked VWoA on the base and the nuts on the studs are not the "speed nut" style I am use to seeing on originals. Does anyone have an idea about this?
Man, what a find. I would love a set of those, but doubt I would ever use them if they were that nice. Probably save them for just such a thread. :) |

I did post many photos of mine on page 12 on this thread. |

mine came from a 72, so maybe that could explain the differences between the 2. its well made and def not a home made piece |

Even stranger because it has the early laminate and handle :?
Bigbore, was yours in the Euro Westy? I wonder if Slammed's was found at a wrecker by a PO? |

Man I've been curious about that since the first was posted. With the matching laminate and handle, one would look great in my 69 westy.
Can't wait to see if more info pops up, or pics of it installed. What keeps it from falling out? |
