Glad you like it....it is a very spezzzzzial tool. I have lots of really good original literature, and I am happy to share it with folks, but I have put in a ton of time and money getting this stuff, and I am not sure that I am ready to just give it all up, and spend hours scanning it for the general populous. Selfish I know, but helping the odd guy would be a pleasure, for now.

Yea, that tool is another thing that is always missing form campers; even though they all came with one.

I can understand your desire to keep stuff you've searched forever for locked away; but as food for thought, remember that large portions of this site wouldn't exist if EB and others hadn't scanned in all their shit. A true bus perv gets the difference between an original document, and a printed pdf.

I look far and wide and for YEARS for original paper work, manuals, documents I just love them my wife thinks Iam sick when it comes to paper work but when I can't fine them copies will have to do till I find the real thing if I ever do. I have a coleman lantern collation a friend was pulling open a wall in his house stashed in the wall was a complete packet for a late 60 s coleman lantern manual, hang tag, mantels and all  he knew right where to take it :D what a nice present :D I have a coleman air pump just a little newer then those blue ones my dad got it for me back in about 1978 I will pull it out I still use it. Coleman puts the date of manufacture on everything they make so somewhere on the pump should be the month and year of when it was made.

i dont know if this is rare but i recently bought a bench seat out of a 73 at a junkyard for 15 bucks. It is a stock seat, but it has this bolt on mechanism that looks to be either factory or aftermarket but it is definately not homemade. I can find any part numbers or company name on the mech but i know it was made in a factory. it bolts directly onto the stock seat and acts as a "z-bed" mech to fold the seat into a bed. Does anybody know what this is? Seems rare

Hahaha. Oh boy, Jason, did you hit your head by any chance when you fell down and broke your leg? Ask bigbore, A B Westy Nut, SG Kent, and Curtis4085 if I am willing to share my goodies. I might even share with you too, if you start being a good girl.

You do make me laugh!

A photo would be helpful. My deluxe station wagon had a similar part when I bought it. Flat plate that fastened to the floor and little channels where the tubing of the seat base are clamped.

Yes, of course I know you are kidding. You and Kirk are amongst my favorite hoarding buddies. I just have to make sure I have the quickest draw in town, if I ever expect to beat you to the next classified trinket.

Kirk's been laying reeeaaallll low since I got the tire and pump. I'll be looking to see who's lurking outside before I open the door. The smell of Sonic wrappers will be a strong clue that Kirk has arrived. Good guy that Kirk.

Got a pair of 68 wipers in SUPER good condition! Saw a guy on here selling a set of crusties for 100 buck? Says they are super rare?

cdennisg Wed Feb 08, 2012 2:37 pm

They are not "super rare", but can be tough to find in nice condition. I have a few sets, and I pick them up at swaps when I see them. Last pair I bought were pretty nice, and I paid ten bucks for them. That was just a few months ago.

Just got my blue box nos bearings today for my rebuild, std case .20 crank std thrust. Found a guy who had an old porsche dealers stash for 914's. Had to buy several large boxes of misc bearings to get these but I think it was worth it. I've got to run some numbers as there's lots of individual bearings as well as several sets on mains. All the main bearing sets are std std .20 that I needed but there must be 15 other sizes of mains that are individually boxed with different part numbers. These bearings look and feel so nice. As a bus geek I had to share some pics as the wife is indifferent to more parts heading to the garage, and more money spent. I still working on the pic links.

Anybody got they are an idea on where to look up these individual bearing numbers? Been looking them up on various search engines but not coming up with what sizes they are for. Any ideas or websites I'm not using?
thanks

Better include genuine cylinder tins. The ones coming out of China are trash and don't include the inner baffle tin that controls the cooling cylinder heads.

Although the question was some time ago, here's some answers to this one:

Malokin Martin wrote:

anyone know what the arrow knob does (under radio)? (...) black and silver thing under the glove box?

black and silver thing As WestyPop wrote, its a map light.

(under radio)? That's the interval control for the extra strong electrical front window washer.

Here you can see the washer nozzles:

yep, very early neptune blue 68s.

upper left hand corner. note it is only for the models listed at the top, all others got the light grey/medium grey.

Here's a 68 Neptune blue single with blue seats in the classified section. Anyone smarter than me that can save the pics to this thread? It would be good to put this in the 68 only thread, too.
