To be honest, I was going to go to Shenandoah Nat Park, because the weather last weekend was fantastic for camping. But, I just put an engine in with wrong tin, and didn't want to take it up the mountains, so the "puddle" in the back yard (actually it's a neighbor's property) had to suffice. I need to get a 71 front tin piece because I've "mickey-Moused" the Bug tin I currently have.
Fortunately I have great neighbors, and it was only three extension cords away for power hook-up...... |

I wont disagree, but was a spur of the moment, shakedown trip; ole lady hadn't been camping in 20+ years, and the only way to try out the bus with her in it was to have a fan... (there was no compromise on her part with this)
So, in the long run, she loved it, compared to tent camping; and we were able to figure out what we needed for a real trip when I get engine tin right......
I also figured out it would be better to leave her home, or have ear plugs, cuz even with the waterfall running, her snooring wasn't helped at all by the wilderness.....
Hopefully now youll understand the method to my madness. |

Spent the last two weekends in Big Meadows, Jennie Lakes Wilderness, Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP.
Me in camp.
Near Buck Rock Fire Lookout.
At the lookout.
The bus did very well on the dirt roads and even on the very rough jeep trail I turned down by accident  Glad that the bus has a short turning radius. |

IIRC that is in California. The Redwood forest some where. We lived in S.F. back in '69-'72 and I remember the folks taking a trip and driving though it.That's no stump, that sucker is alive. I believe we drove through it in a '69 Galaxy. |

Cobscook Bay State Park in Maine.
Deer Island, New Brunswick - very cool as it was at the southern tip of the island located in the Bay of Fundy and you needed to take a ferry to get there. The water in the pic is apparently the largest tidal whirlpool in North America. We could see seals and porpoises from the beach - supposed to be whales as well but we didn't see any.
My wife and son in those pics.

My first mountain trip in the bus. He did great. 23mph all the way to the top....30mph on the way back down.
And my trusty co-pilot.
