The bus was owned by the same guy since the late 70's, there is a 20 year stack of registrations inside. He unfortunately passed away, his family is selling off his estate. There are the full set of poles and the large tent although not in great shape, canvas is pretty sun faded in spots. Hope to get back to the property soon and search around more. It did come with the original westy owner's manual and roof rack.

My uncle found this single cab in Arkansas and with just a little work he drove it to my house yesterday. I love it

Cool score! Fyi I had some rear cushions with that exact orange/green thread combo in my 62 so33. Looked to be original and hidden under covers. Your bus is the only other example I've seen. Some red w/green has been found that is similar as well.

Thank you. I had never seen the orange fabric before. I was hoping the orange fabric was under the rear seat re-covers too but it's not. The two wedge pillows are very brittle. I'm really stoked about this bus though. :)

Nice SC! I'd bet 3/4 of that grey primer is completely unnecessary. Time for an EZ-Off party!

....too bad about the roof rot though

What are your plans for it?

Sadly it's probably going to get chopped up and sold or swapped for parts to put our DD/WT Kombi together. I bought it sight unseen because i need pass seat and rear seats as well as bumpers. Family didn't know what year it was but I figured that I had to start somewhere and took the chance.

Picked up this 63 SWR panel today. She's seen better days but I felt like taking up the rescue mission anyway. Turns out I've had more difficult rescues; either that or I've done this too many times.

J-roc showing her some love.

This was in his Gallery, Just a tease, but that dash looks nice......

Trevor P Sun Sep 14, 2014 11:06 am

The bulk head is cut out, but the OG Ruby red cab paint and the rear primer grey is intact inside. Dash has the radio hole hacked. It was stacked to the roof with junk.
The only real score inside was the JC 8 track.
