Sneak peek of the latest purchase. I can't take credit for the find as my friend got the lead and we went and checked it out yesterday. Its a rock solid '65 13w that came to mn from new Mexico about 18 years ago. Has fresh paint and a zero mile 1835 sitting in it.

The juxtaposition of the spare tire made it look like a shorty at first glance.

Not a great photo but i got it home. Turns out it is actually a '64 was a turquoise blue/white bus with como green interior. I have most of the original interior panels but they are all pretty rough. Anyone making reproduction como green stuff?

That building is tits! Anumore pics of it? I like the bus, take it back to orig?

rustfree1967bug Wed Aug 24, 2016 1:54 pm

Just a few more pics out in the sun after washing it.

The building is 28x50 and i just had the cement done this spring. Still need to get wiring and insulation done. I plan to have a lift innhere eventually. I plan to do interior as close to original as possible. As for the paint it is somewhat close to the original L380 turquoise

Go back and get what's left of that Special Edition '74 Love Bug on the driver's side- still sporting its Luscious Lime paint.

i spotted this one in maine right on what has to be the busiest road in the state other than I-95

appears to have been a riviera camper due to the cut out in the long wall. i didn't even ask if it was for sale.

A friend told me about this gem hiding in the tall grass.
A few phone calls later to track down the owner and it's load up time.
I've affectionately named it Tetanus. It's a 64 panel which sported a homemade camping kit / windows.

We poked about the tall grass and found some "interesting" piles of "stuff"....

We loaded up 4 engine cases, one from each generation of aircooles from 74 type 4 1700, AS 41 1600 DP, a 36 hp old school, and a 1500 SP. Got pistons? Anyone need a Type 3 shroud? More pics in my gallery.

The lack of trans and spring plates made this load a little more challenging.

And off to home we went. I still have to figure out how to unload it....

So what is the story on this location? Was it an old VW salvage yard in the past?

Is that a 36h.p. bus case you picked up too?

Congratulations, nice find.
