thanks guys!

the color is the original Bruce Meyers metalflake gelcoat. It was pretty fadded when I got it, but there were no cracks.

I went over it with an orbital buffer and 3M super duty rubbing compound for a couple of hours, then waxed it, and it turned out real nice.

the jack is holing the side pod up, it isnt bolted on yet. I got that jack at target for 10 bucks! they were closing there automotive department, and I think they mis-priced it.

The highest point on the body is 35 inches tall!

Thats the exact color as my buggy, but there is no way I am going to be lucky enough to save the original gelcoat. Its covered with red paint now, and there are several areas needing repair. The color was still pretty vibrant under the tail lights tho. Same exhaust as well. I did manage to find a 1 7/8" stainless band clamp to secure the pipe to the muffler. If your interested let me know. It worked well, clamps tightly, looks good, and is stainless.

I am very intrested in that stainless clamp!

Is it like an exhaust clamp, or like a hose clamp?
where did you get it?

Thanks -Brian

Good job saving the original gelcoat. I wish I could save mine, but it isn't possible.

jspbtown, Mine is also the same color, 07E. Mine is a 69 and from what I have seen that must have been the "IN" color in 68 and 69. There seems to be an over abundance of that color made those years. GROOVY

It was about $10 to my door and only took about 2 days. The 1 7/8 slid very tightly over the pipe, but did cinge sp? I meant tighten...) down a good amount. It is about 5/8" wide. I put the bolt facing down in the back of the exhaust for a very clean look. Much better then that supplied clamp.

Yeah, mine came with a standard steel 1 7/8" muffler clamp. I knew that it would rust instantly so there was no way I was going to put it on. I could not find a 1 7/8" stainless muffler clamp so I thought to use this. It works pretty well in securing it tightly. No road experience with it yet of course since my engine remains on its stand as I accumulate more parts and wait for my garage.

That's an awesome color - kudos on being able to save it. Is yours an actual manx? I just picked up a dune buggy from someone in Texas, but I can't seem to figure out who made it. It's very similar to yours. Maybe I got lucky!
