It seems like every time I turn around I have another huge list of things I need to order for the buggy. And as soon as I get that stuf in I think a 10 more things that I need. Does it ever end??? I just droped another grand on engine stuff.

Jeremy, it will be worth it, trust me. I rolled on a s2000 the other day, we both slowed down to about 55-60, I downshifted to third and smoked him until about 100mph(top of third)----and those things ain't slow. I backed off, he caught up and gave me the thumbs up and a smile. Next exit he pulled off, and within 2 miles i was out of gas.   The ego was deflated by pushing my car backwards for 2 miles along the interstate, but I bet the s2000 dude won't be messin wit no vw's no mo!!!!!

After MUCH thought and rethought I have decided to stick with my original plans of a 1915cc. Counter weighted crank. H-beam rods, lightened wrist pins, wedgemated lightened billte flywheel. CB's 044 CNC heands 40mm X 35.5mm vlaves. Engle W110 cam with 1.25:1 rockers stright cut cam gears, lightened lifters, Hopeing to hit a 120hp. I still need to come up with a set of idf44's though. There is a bug show here is Chattanooga in two weeks so I hope to find some there. All I lack for my engine is my mallory dist. and carbs. I am sending everything of this thurs, to get balanced a blueprinted. I want this motor to be snap happy, I want it to be a very quick reving engine.

Hey Murz how quick does your new beast rev???

MURZI Mon Apr 10, 2006 7:42 pm

I would not say my engine is snap happy, but it has tons of torque down low. At 6000-6200 rpm I am finished. My buddies 1835 is snap happy, revs to 6500-6700 , but has nowhere near the torque I have. I think the key to acceleration in a smaller engine is a properly geared tranny. I went with a 3.88 r+p simply because of interstate driving, but now that i am a little bit wiser, I wish i would have stuck in the 4.12 tranny I have in the garage instead. The difference in rpm is minimal at 70 mph. Who knows i may HAVE to stick the 4.12 in there before long.   But that's why i bought it, to replace a broken tranny. I really need to rig the video camera up so you guys can go for a "virtual" ride......
