I did a little searching here to not waste anyone's time, but came up empty. I vaguely remember reading a magazine article about (and seeing a photo of) of a prototype of the water-cooled cars that used an old air-cooled motor--presumably while the chassis was being developed and before the WC motor was worked out. It would have had to be a dasher proto to be mounted that way. Am I nuts? I can't find mention of it anywhere.
This was about 25 years ago, and I've lost a few brain cells in that time, so I can't prove anything. ;-) |

Cool! That wasn't the one, but I had no idea that car existed in production.
I remember a photo of the car with an upright engine in front, no hood... maybe an old Motor Trend from the last '60s/early 70s? Could have been a prototype of the car you pictured, though, thanks! |
