I've seen pans done in POR 15 that have a super glossy finish. My pan has been painted with regular paint and looks ok, but won't stand up to use.

Can POR 15 be coated over paint? What type of POR should I use? I went to their website and was overwhelmed with the options. How should I apply? Has someone used this? If so how did you use it and prep for it?

Sorry about all the questions.

I dont know about por15 but i have used roll on bed liner and it is strong and still looks good.

It will only be as strong as the 1st layer of paint. If the 1st layer of paint peels, so will the layers on top of it. Besides, POR-15 is not UV resistant, will fade when exposed to the sun.

Por-15 is the shit

your gonna havta strip the pan to bare metal to get good adhesion though. Also it does fade like kubel nice said if its in the sun but that doesnt effect anything.

Also you can topcoat it with certain other por-15 products including a primer that lets you use whatever type of paint youd like.

I used por-15 on two cars and i will never use a different rust proofing product.

It must take a long time to fade. This floorpan was painted with POR-15, 3 years ago and it hasn't faded yet.
