Here is my "work in progress" Type I '64. Put some EMPI 5 Spokes on and going to drop the front. Maybe drop it about 4" and narrow 2". Still trying to decide on what accessories to add. Changing the carpet soon and taking out the speakers. I want the interior to look stock. What do you all think. Any suggestions.

Needs the chrome around the front and back glass. With those rims, lower it, or put the stock ones back on, IMO.

But is a nice looking car!

What size tire did you mount on your EMPI 5 Spokes???

As for the front and rear windows. Yeah... I want to eventually get the chrome trim in the front and rear windows. Also want pop outs for the back windows.

EddieW914. Fronts are 145's and the rear 165's. I bought them as a package deal in the samba classifieds.

What do you guys think of the rear? Keep it stock height or lower to just above the tires?

I have a ruby red 64... the car is destined to be for my wife and kids to drive around town in. They're known not to give much attention to road hazards so I'll probably leave it stock height with some form of after market wheel along with a few other accessories, but basically stock. Remember the styling in the late 60's was to leave things at stock height. That 'look' isnt that bad imho. Ask yourself what the car is for and then decide what to do with it.
