Our state legislature is talking about since gas prices have gone back down, they are going to add another $.05 road use tax. They say the roads are in very bad shape. What have they been doing with the road use tax that they are already collecting on the gas now.
That money is suppose to only go for road repair and improvement, but it goes into the general fund.
All the polititians are alike whether they are federal, or local. |

(Actually a little more than a gallon). US gas is CHEEEEEEEP.
X2. At the worst time I was paying the equivalent of $6.95/gallon. Never saw/heard of prices that high in the US.
And the saddest thing is we make, and refine the stuff right here. There's more oil here than the whole world put together, yet somehow we're getting screwed (50% ? tax on gas is pretty fair I guess).
:?
Exactly, it's about the taxes mostly and supply/demand. My province is floating on a sea of crude and natural gas yet we pay more than the East. If I didn't know the NEP was dismantled, I would think it was still in effect. Of course a few months ago it was all "Bush's fault" gas was so high. |

| Damn!! I am going to drive to KC to get gas - It is still $1.78 here in Topeka. Although my wife would want to shop and then go out to dinner, so the price per gallon just went up to $5.00 a gallon. ---- Never mind! |

Now, what would be interesting, is if some place in the US would hit $1/gallon.
I mean Bates City, MO is at $1.45.... and in Missouri, the average gas price dropped 90 cents in one month. I just wonder how much more it will go down? |
