just switched from points to electronic pointless
seems to be running a great deal better any thoughts

Quicker starts and smoother idle
Con:
When they fail, you're walking

And Glenn will tell ya to have a spare set of points, just in case LOL.
Have used Pertronix and currently have a Compufire - even with doing stuff you aren't supposed to do (have had the key on without car running ), never killed any. If I was taking a looooong trip, I would probably take a spare module with me. But have seen quite a few posts with folks using these for many years without issue.
The "key on" thing is that depending on crank position, you may be energizing unit and it will overheat and fry. |

| have had a Compufire in my buggy for 3 1/2 years, never a problem. Consis, tent performance, easy starting, easily the best first modification to any V.W. |
