Tire-kickers get the Fee-for-the-day. I just do not have time for that. Either you want to do the work or not..one of two.

Proof? You want a resume? I pat myself on the back all the time. Sometimes I even amaze myself.

All you have to do is check out my galleries. I do not take pics of all the freaking work I do.

I do not intend to do everyone's machining needs. Just a select few. No skin off my nose if you do not come to me. I am just here for me.

keep the self promotion in an ad.
it doesn't belong in the forums.
is that hard to understand or you need time to digest that?

nsracing Sun Aug 27, 2006 12:24 pm

Self-promotion? What are you smoking?

You question "proof" of work. I mention a little work I have done and it is self-promotion?

There is more than one person in this world who can read the dials on a Bridgeport mill.

I buy the machines I want because I can afford it. That is not self-promotion. It is just like buying a wrench. Just go get it.

I am not so sure what is up your alley dude. Fine...you are not going to send me work. Let it go at that.

Do I have to use small words so you understand it?
self promotion belongs in an ad.. not in the forums.
stop trying to tell everyone how swell you might think you are.
thats called "selling". got it now?
i can't put it any plainer. can you get a wee bit more smarter so i don't have to dumb it down anymore?

nsracing Sun Aug 27, 2006 3:15 pm

This man here is confused.

He sees something nice and he thinks the other person is selling.

When you put a price tag on it....NOW it is SELLING!

When you bring it out in the open for no reason...that is SHOWING OFF!

nice? i don't do my work under the big top like a clown.
i'm not selling anything.
i don't care what you have.
i want you to stop trying to prove to everone else(and yourself) how good you THINK you are.
when you have a shop and do it for a living i'll think about cutting you some slack,.untill then, your just a Bullshitter.

nsracing Sun Aug 27, 2006 4:25 pm

Oh..I see. You see a shop and you assume they know something. That is a joke. The VW AirCooled industry is full of hacks.

Like there is so much money to be made on AirCooled VWs. Give me a break. You cannot make a living doing $20 alignbore jobs.
I have no desire to do it for a living. Thank goodness I do not have to rely on it to bring food to the table. My hobby has capacity only few can appreciate. I am fine where I sit.

I move as I please..when and where and how much. So there! :D

Perhaps you should continue this conversation in the Rants...

Given the recent Mario thread, Nick, you might want to let this die...

Bravo,..you get a cookie.

iowegian Sun Aug 27, 2006 7:09 pm

Who is this "Mario" of whom you speak?? :?

David Sun Aug 27, 2006 7:20 pm

That totally sucks!

Looks like I'll have to do *all* of the restoration work myself... damn.

I took my car in to them over a year ago. Apparently Mike got hurt (or that's the story I got) and they wound up being locked out by the people renting their business. My car was still in their shop. I had to beg the lease people to let me in there to get it. When I got home I realized how many parts are missing. They never reattached the body to the car and it's missing the seal. I'm also missing all brake parts between the master cylinder and the pedal assembly. What a nightmare. Wish I had never taken my care there. The paint job looks like total crap too. They just painted over areas that were rust pitted and needed sanding. I know one guy who's suing them. I wish I had the money and time to do that.

nsracing Wed Oct 18, 2006 3:52 pm

It just sucks everywhere.

I do NOT think you can sue them personally. If the company was a corporation, then you can only sue the company...NOt the individual.

The company..now defunct..is the one responsible not the people working in it.

yelirt5 Wed Oct 18, 2006 5:56 pm

that's why I decided not to sue them. It's not worth it. Those dirtbags don't have money to buy themselves a pot to piss in, so it's all just a waste of time.

ho-dad Thu Oct 19, 2006 5:09 am

That just sucks, yelirt5. It was such a great shop - I'm sure Ken is spinning in his grave.

yelirt5 Thu Oct 19, 2006 5:41 am

My only consolation is that they did an absolutely beautiful job on the metal work. I'm more mad at myself for letting them paint it. If I just really looked hard at the car I would have known it wasn't ready. Mike was just trying to get some more money from me before they finally went under.

kafer60 Fri Aug 29, 2008 11:11 am

I luckily got my car back before they went under also. Tim gave me a royal F@#K. I asked them to do a job and it was only half assed. Last I heard he headed to FLA. had a bad drinking problem or was about to do some time, who knows, stand up for yourself! I even went by his house and everything gone! I wonder if anything is still in the building, like my windshiel wiper motor!!!

Oh-dad, you do have a nice single cab (Inga I think) must have been done before Tim ran the show!
