My brother recently acquired a Tow'd and is in the process of rebuilding it. He wants to know how others are attaching their torsion arms to the body. The original design was a 'U' bolt that fastened the torsion arms as well as the gas tank to the body.
The previous owner used muffler clamps. Does anyone have a better suggestion?
While searching for Tow'd related discussions, I found the following question on this forum with zero responses. :(

Does anyone have pics of how theirs are mounted?
Thanx

So I'm not filled with confidence asking my question. |

| I dont know anything about them but i know i would not use a muffler clamp to hold the tortion bar. maybe a ubolt from a rear axle on an american car/truck. that way you know it is strong. you can go to the RBC site and ask there . more tow'ds there |

I'm here!!! Okay, here is the deal. Yes , originally a towds torsion assembly was held on with long ubolts AND a tab from the frame to each shock mount.
As for modifying, a friend welded a short bead fron and rear to the main bracket and ran tubing from the front to the rear bracket as another support.
I'll try to load a shot of that also |
