The Locals are now San Diego's newest VW club, and unfortunately one of the few. The club is still in it's infancy, but we are gaining speed each day. The club is be open to all aircooled vw's and will be family friendly with a positive vibe. We will be invading next weeks El Cajon cruise tainting the generally American muscle crowd with some German lookers ( I love parking next to a 57 chevy and getting more onlookers). If you want to get a feel for what it's all about come out and join us May 10th around 5:00, look for Shawns slammed black 67 or my baby blue 56 rag. There will be many more cruises, BBQ's, and get togethers this summer so head on out and meet the crew early.

The LOCALS ElCajon cruise last wednesday was cool. We had 3 oval rags, a slammed 67, a convertable ghia, a 65 ghia, a 60 rag, and a 69. We rolled in there and heads were turning.

Locals will be holding our first official cruise/meeting at the Vons parking lot on College and Elcajon blvd at 3pm on sunday the 21st of May. All are invited to hang out, cruise and talk VW's. If you want more info checkout

Sounds pretty cool, I took my slammed bug to the first show of the year at elcajon and I think I was like one of two vw's there it was pretty bad. But alot people were checking out my car so it was fun!!

We were at the first show, I only saw a red 65 in the closed off middle section. You should come out to the Vons on College and ElCajon the 21st at 3:00 expecting quite a few participants.

We would love to have some SV2 members come out and join us, we had a meeting on Sunday the 21st and had about 17 bugs but only one bus. Shure would be nice to have a couple buses join in on the fun, maybe El Cajon cruise sometime???

Only 1 Bus, but it was probably the cleanest one in the San Diego area.

im still doing the VW meets every other thursday night in la jolla at TGIF love to have you guys come out next thursday to talk vw eat some food and hang out

Hey Glen thanks for the compliment.

As for the rest of you air cooled guys, lets roll on that meeting at TGI Fridays next Thursday the 29th. And what about going out to El Cajon cruise night in force. IE: meet somewhere and then cruise in together????

Kevin- You're Bus is hands down the best in San Diego County by far.

As for meeting up, when does the La Mesa/Spring St cruise kick off?

Spring st. is every Thursday night till around 8pm. I cruised out there last week and saw red head Shawn with his blue turbo bug, and a black primerd bug with white walls. I parked for about an hour and had a croud the entire time. The best part was when both of the American hot rod guys on both sides of my bus, got tired of getting no attention and left about 30-45 min. after I rolled in..... Where are the rest of thease VW
guys? Do they realy want a club or what??? :roll:

Yeah we are alive and well, just a few set backs have seemed to put us under the radar for a while, Shawn had a few problems on the way back from the Classic, and I'm currently trying my best to get my narrowing/slamming/other shit complete on the oval, so you know how that is. I talked with shawn yesterday and things are looking good for him he just needs to slap an engine in his ride and that might help him get around a bit better. I should be done with my car in the next few weeks as long as the "amazing link pin drop spindle shortage" doesn't hit again. I've had a hell of a time trying to get my hands on a set of those damn things. I posted just a few of the pics from El Cajon and the first meeting on the myspace page, take a look.

ill try to get the group together tonight after out meet in la jolla to roll down to la mesa and check things out one of theses nights we need to just get a big group rollin out to eat and hang
