Had my Beetle for about a year now and never posted a link in this section here before. So, figured see what people think about it.
98,000 miles, spent it's whole life in Wisconsin till I got it(orignals pans and metal all around), came with two sets of pop outs, but still not sure if I want to use them.
Bad:
-Missing carpet on heater channels(quoted nearly 200 just for that any ideas has to be wool)
-PO painted rims(wroung color, spray paint crap) and paint touched up below chrome(blends very good, needs to be wet sanded still to make perfect, original body matching fender beading still in place)
-needs a wash
Repo:
-Roof Rack
-WW Grey Floor Mat
-Fuel Pump(not sixes but new VW(vw of germany part) part though, with treaded inlet, put original line back in)
-books not for my car or dealership, correct year(but most of the service was done at my cars dealsherip)
-plate frame till I can find the correct dealership one
So, what do you all think. Paid $3,200 for it and god knows know much more gone into it since. Not a perfect car, but still pretty original and what I like more anyways. Was an after chemo gift for myself. Getting ready to start another project, 1971 Kombi(surprise gift from father). Going to her first show(well first with me) in a couple days. Anyways here it is, please point out the bad or incorrect, always room for improvement.

This in my new Project 1971 Bus, Kombi. Had most of it's rust issues taken care of before I got it and new paint, but still needs a new decklid. Has a 1950cc, but in need of a top end rebuild(have most of the parts together now, 90.5 p&c, 041 heads). Has alot of vintage performance parts on the motor. Had been sitting for a while and uncle decided to run it against the advise of the PO, made it about 10 miles before it died. Dumping tons of oil out the muffler. Interior has been recovered, but not factory and missing a few things. Going basicly back to stock, except for the larger motor. Had to start chemo again, so sick and the project is moving very slowly right now, but hope to pull the motor soon with the help of the local club. Once that's out the pace should pick up. Still, not a bad gift. Also, came with a notebook full of ever bit of service work and every fill up/mileage record for 1980-2000. She has nearly 400,000 miles on her. Anyways comments welcome, but remember have yet to do anything to it yet.

| 1971 buses are nice. They are the first to have disc up front and the last with the type 1 (upright) motor. If i had to buy a bay window bus, it would be a 71. As for your beetle, i really like early beetles. You have a fine example of an unmolested car. Is it still 6 volt? Hector |
