i forgot to say that i live in Norway, and this is my FIRST project.
So bare with me....
Apparently it'll take a little time before i get some mechanical parts, so i sandblasted the front beams, and started working on the rust in the front.
Picture of partly sandblasted beams...maybe not new, but they look decent:

A lot of rust here. I have ordered both the wheel archs, and those i will get in 2 weeks (...). In the meanwhile, i will try to repair the old one, just to practise my welding techniques....who knows maybe i end up not replacing it! check out the pic:

I started taking the cargo floor out. Looks decent. I have a whole new floor, which i will weld on after i have sandblasted the frame (primer of course). Bit of rust in the front and side. That i'll have to take care of. Do i have to buy replicas of the floor support, or can i make my own?:

Thats it for today. Lets see what happens tomorrow.... |

Although donations to the site are accepted, they are not needed to post pics. Heres how to post pics.

Today i practised my welding by doing the wheel arch. I ordered a new wheel arch on both sides, but in the meanwhile i might as well practise a little! Check it out. Not bad for first time welding. I need to weld a little more on it tomorrow, so it will be better.
I wasn't sure the upper flange was as big as i made it, but i can always cut it down....
Question: Which tool do i use to grind this weld down? The minigrinder doesn't reach in there...

Took out most of the cargo floor today. New one awaits.
Took the engine out 2. The engine compartment looks great. Very little rust (thank God)!
The problem is the rust on the windows. Its a tricky area! Is there a tutorial on window-welding somewhere online? |
