OK, I'll play.

This is Francine.

84 Vanagon, engine replaced with an 86 2.1L. Manual trans.

Current projects:
GoWesty rear shoulder belts
Bus Depot Vision Kit headlights
Bus Depot full exhaust system

A good and thorough checking-over and general adjusting of any and everything is coming as well. But. For now, since it's January in Kansas City and this is soon to be my daily driver, I won't be tearing into anything too deep or involved.

Future work:
I'm really thinking hard about rat-rodding it (visually) with some drop springs, flat wheel discs and flat black paint. Needs audio upgrades (there's curently no stereo in it whatsoever).

Plans for use include hauling the fam (wife and a pair of kidlets) as well as the band as required.

Another new Vanagon owner. We found this one in North Carolina and flew out there over Christmas and drove it to it's new home in Albuquerque.

It has about 9000 miles on a Gowesty 2.3l and new automatic transmission. Can't wait to start making it our own.

Can't believe I have not posted here yet. Pic below is not the first of our Westy but this is during its first trip the weekend after we bought it the week that Pluto was demoted from planethood. My bro-in-law snapped this one of us on our way to the C&O Canal along the Potomac River for Labor Day weekend of 2006, stopping by his place an hour out of town.

Many happy miles since, with many more to come, we hope.

Did a little snow driving today thanks to a snow storm that came through. I really am impressed on how well this does with chains on it. I drove up some roads that kids were sledding down, much to their dismay, but I drove around trying to find the worst hills, and I was able to drive up anything I could find!

Perhaps B&W is better?

My Volkswagens as of January 2012 (the T3 GL parts donor, Sharan TDi and 1303S were not available for the taking of the pics).

Makes me wonder if this really IS a healthy hobby :D

Saying Hi from PA, my first camper was a 74 riviera, then my beloved 84 westy AT gas, and now my very special 82 westy diesel named Stinky :D

Theres a very good story to go with the recent purchase of Stinky...

Almost Free Vanagon! Traded our daily driving 97 Toyota RAV for this daily driving "Bluestar" this weekend:

The PO was looking for a more compact car for his wife and kids and I was looking for a reliable (YEAH RIGHT! :)) vanagon for my wife and kids. Both cars had some body damage, both were high mileage, but the Vanagon will serve us better. It cleaned up better than I expected too:

Now I'm a 3 vanagon fleet:
