View original topic: Got some NOS MOMO wheels for Golf / Audi. Early 80s
4hammers Thu May 25, 2006 4:00 am

Hi.
I have recently found a sset of NOS MOMO Wheels, with Golf written on them. They were in storage at a parts dealer, which has a heap of other stuff. The VW was written on the back by the dealer when he had them on display. They are early 80's I am assuming, as the dealership shut down in 82.

Here is a photo. Any ideas on what they are off & what they are worth? I have no use for them, I drive aa 55 Split Bus. They would look crap!

Appreciate any info.
Regards & Thanks in advance.

I've never seen those before. And I'm sure someone will pay a stupid amount of money for them. 8)

I know I wouldn't pay much for them. Ugly things, what size are they? It looks like it says 5Jx13H2. I wonder what the offset is.

Not much call for 13 inch alloys these days, especially unattractive ones like these. They aren't even making that many size of tires for 13's any more.

Hi Guys.
Thanks for the input. I didn't say they were pretty, Andy! They are odd in my eyes, but some of the crap I have seen stuck on cars makes me wonder if I am the one who doesn't "get it".
They also don't make a LOT of things for cars nowadays, but we can still find stuff, can't we?

OK.
Let me re-phrase the question. Does anyone know what they are off? (Please, no discussions on personal likes & Dislikes of these VERY pretty rims  8) )

Thanks,
Rob J

I don't think they're off any VW; pretty sure they were an accessory wheel, and 'Golf' may just be the model....or whomever had them before put them aside for their Golf.

I'd say check out www.vwvortex.com , as there are a lot of Mk1 enthusiasts there into 'retro' accessories. They have regular discussion forums, and also classifieds forums; I say sign up(it's free), and post them on the discussion forums to see if anyone knows anything about them......then post them on the 'wheel & tire' classifieds forum.

Hi Plasto
Thanks for that. Appreciated. I have found that site & bunged up an ad asking what they are. Got some interest & lo & behold, they love them!
I am in Tasmania, Australia, so probably won't sell over there. It is a little too far away. May try & find an Aussie who is into "Garish 80's rims".

Again, thanks,
Rob J

p.s. Don't suppose you have a BIG picture of that babe in your avatar. Mmmmmmm, I DO wish!
