| Im thinking about getting one is this an all around good car? has there been any major recalls of this model or what? Any tips would help thanks much. |

2001-2003 (or 04) 1.8T engines had an ignition coil (4 of them $$$$) recall.
My wifes 1.8t jetta wagon SUCKED from day one. gone.
My 1.8t bug had no problems... ever. gone as well.
so I say you got a 50-50 chance :wink: |
