| I f the fuel pump sounds louder than usual does that mean that it is going bad or is it bad, I have already changed the filter and in tank fuel pump. The fox has been running than it just sputters out. In order for me to move it again i have to restart it, and give it more gas than it sputters out again |

| that is what mine did before it went out. I replaced a ton of fuel system parts before I got it fixed when it was probably the pump to begin with. That is what I get for listening to a mechanic. |

When you replaced the in-tank pump, did you get a brand new one....or a used one? Sounds to me like that pump is bad.
Based on the symptoms you described above(sputtering, main pump noisy), I'd guess the in-tank pump is bad; that's the way it goes on the 2-pump systems. When the in-tank pump is bad, the main pump has to work harder....hence the increased noise. A bad in-tank pump can make the car act like it's out of gas, even when it's not; the system cannot keep the pressure up where a CIS injected car needs it. |
