Beautiful weather, but I think the show is getting a bit greedy, I mean, c'mon - $45 for the car, driver and a passenger? $20 bucks for a spectator? Keep raising those prices - and no one will show up!
Here's some photos from the buggy section:
Well, the jet dragster, anyway
Here's the buggies:
(this one is the one that took first in the "kit" category - even though it had 'buggy' on the tag and came in after judging)
A turbo'd twin carb Ghia - nice setup!
A Type4 motored Ghia - very clean

Rick,
Are you saying that red "buggy" took FIRST ?!? Not saying anything bad about it BUT that should of been in the Buggy class IMO!

Mark,
In the buggy class, the orange one (fifth from the top, with the softtop) took first, the orange metalflake buggy (top three shots) took second, and I think the blue one took third, but I'm not sure on that.
The maroon and white full pan buggy took first in the "kit" category (where I was with my Sterling). The Puma in front of it took third (you can just see the back of the Puma in the buggy shot) and the Speedster (seen in the buggy shot behind the blue buggy) took second. It's a political show, let's face facts. It's all in who you know at the jusges stand.

Rick,
Yup, I hear you...sometimes if you know one of the judges, well you know the story. I have been showing different types of cars for alot of years and been in the same situation...as long as I had a good time at a particular show i'll go back if I can. In my class Mr. Fletcher, with the multi-color purple and white bug....go back and forth as far as who gets 1st or 2nd. It's kind of fun as to see who gets what.
Rick, I have to ask, did your car place at all?? IT should have, it is very cool...you do not see too many of them, at least in the condition yours is in!

Thanks, Mark, for the support. No, no trophies of any sort. I've been to over 30 shows in the last two years, and the only show I received a trophy at was the Campbelltown show. I guess having a too-exotic looking vehicle leaves the judges wondering what to do, so they play it safe. Oh well...next year I might have my Manx SR there. We'll see.
