Hi everyone, looking to find new tires (original size or very close to it) for a '76 914. Searching the internet reveals very few options, on most sites the size chooser widget thingy just does not like leaving out the ratio
Question: Has anyone recently bought new 165 SR 15 or 165 HR 15s recently? How did you find them?
Thanks!

Why such a small skinny tire in this day?
Most run 195x60x15's to take advantage of the cars handling and get some WoW factor. |

These guys will have the size - http://www.coker.com
Not sure of the compound or style for a 914 but they can hook you up with skinnys. Glad to see someone keeping theirs stock! |

| The Coker tires are pretty expensive. For right now I'll put on some cheesy Taiwanese tires I found, for the future I plan on getting a good set of original late-model style steel rims to get the car closer to original, and then I'll think about Michelins from Coker. |

The 195's are about the same as the OEM's and work nicely on a 914.
The 4 bolt Fuchs or the Mahles were optional on the 914 and look great.
Steelies look nice but were on the basic models. |

I think that's the first time I ever heard anyone say that 195s are "about the same" as 165s
Nah, thanks, I'll stick with the stock look. The Riviera wheels on there right now don't look all that nice in my opinion, and instead of spending much more on the optional Mahles I'll just get steel rims. And then that boy-racer looking center reflector between the taillights is next on the "must go" list  |

I just bought a set from Gearworks Manu - found them on eBay. About 195 w/ shipping. They're Nanking - not exactly original - but definitely cheap. I have no vested interest. Good luck

Several tires sizes were available on the 914's including 185/70x15's
only the basic models usually had the 165's |
