I promised new engine pictures as soon as I had the new air filters installed:

I looked all over for a set of these that would fit the Weber ICT carburetor, but no vendor in the States carried them... so I ended up buying them directly from the manufacturer, Lynx, in Australia:

so, what's in the box?

mounting the base plate:

the base plate's throat was just a CH too tight, so I broke out the torch and opened it up just a smidge.... thankfully, the plate is a heavy piece of steel...

close up of one mounted:

and the pair....

tightened them up and took the square for a spin -- listening carefully for one of them to fall off (my kinda luck)....

as an unintended consequence, adding more airflow seems to have solved my engine's bucking issue at higher, steady-speed RPM's... so, rather than running lean at higher RPM as was suspected, I was running rich....

anyways -- these seem to be high quality air filters, with a washable/reusable filter element....

I'll put more miles on them and report back....

And you can hook hook your crankcase breather hose to the one.

yep -- down the road I just may do so and ditch the road draft tube....

Looks good. I keep saying I'm gonna do similiar to the Weber 44's (like Critter1 did) but I'd have to change the linkage too and life just seems to keep getting in the way.

thanks -- now I gotta find pics to Critter1's setup....

nevermind -- got it:

good looking and they flow very well...

those filter covers make me think of The Fly!

very cool.

Russ Wolfe Sat Jun 21, 2008 3:26 pm

I hate Dave's linkage for adjusting. I think I would like Critters for adjusting

wolfman's brother Sat Jun 21, 2008 3:34 pm

what's the story on critter's linkage there?! that looks sweet and a possible solution i've been looking for on my 40's

got a link for those filters dave?that's the other solution i've been working on :)

Agree 100%. Those solid bars were designed by dorks, and look like ass. In my humble opinion, of course. Critter's linkage at least follows the original design to an extent.

aye -- 'cat hair' will do just fine on this here family-oriented site....

if a bell-crank linkage for Weber ICT's exist, somebody post up the info....

as far as the air filters, they are manufactured by Lynx, in Australia...

the manufacturer's home page:

http://www.lynxcorp.com.au/main.php?idx=home

to shop for Ram Flo air filters:

http://www.lynxcorp.com.au/shopping/default.asp?keywords=ramflo&group=ALL

I worked with a sales rep via e-mail to order mine; if anybody is serious about talking to Lynx as far as purchasing, PM me and I forward the email address....

wolfman's brother Sat Jun 21, 2008 5:34 pm

found what I was looking for :) but are they priced per pair or individual?
