| I have an 88 Gti, will a 95 jetta trans work in the gti. it looks as though it should |

You will have to use a 16v clutch kit to make it work, but yes it will. The 16v A2 and the 2.0 A3 have a larger input shaft on the trans than the 8v A2 does, and they will not work with an 8v A2 clutch.
Do NOT order a clutch for the '95, as it will not work with your '88 flywheel; VW changed the design of the 4-cylinder flywheel & clutch in mid-year '94. |
