| I just put an automatic transmission into my 89 GLI and see that it has no cooler of any kind that I can see nor any way to hook one up. What the heck keeps them from burning up and are they really any good? |

Run synthetic only in them. They cool by the fins on the converter. Yes its corn, but I have 140K on one. Heat kills them. Run good oil and change it frequently.
As for the diagrams, invest in a Bentley Manual, check Ebay, you should be able to pick one up for 10 bucks or so |
