My brother-in-law was fooling around in my oval and now my passenger door doesn't open from the outside :x !
I thought there was some way to lock and unlock the door via the inner handle but I can't figure it out.
Any help on this issue???
Thx in advance. |

| The inside handle, pushed all of the way down, is in the locked position. Are you turning the handle up to the unlocked position? |

| I've tried swinging it forward and backwards and it won't work. The mechanism isn't supposed to move around is it (center of it up, down, etc)??? |

| Okay, got my bug back from the shop after over a year. I still have the problem with the passenger door. I took it apart and now see that it does lock from the inside when I push the handle forward. The problem is, when I unlock it from the inside, the outside handle won't work anymore. It seems the push-button that is pushed by the exterior handle is pushed a little bit by the handle and doesn't allow it to reset. When I try it without the exterior handle, it resets fine. Could this be because of an aftermarket icepick handle? |

Try working both handles at the same time. I don't mean in the open position. Just move them around at the same time. I've had something similar happen on my 57. Once you get everything back in sinc.you have to make sure that the inside handle is truely in the closed position and not a half a click toward open. If it's in that partial position it will happen again.
