......

so with all the tins ready for install, I installed the pully tin and an old stock sized AL degree pully

and then added some of the bolt-ons back on (fuel pump/ points/etc all new)

and put the ALMOST new clutch and pressureplate on.

At this point, the motor was starting to get heavy, and since I didnt have an engine stand adapter, but had a ready and waiting chassis, I just bolted up the motor to the trans to continue the assembly process since I'm 10 years older since starting the process and my back is always hurting now, the only downfall to this plan was that for the rest of the assembly process I would be hunched over, sounded like a good idea at the time.... i was WRONG.

more motor update still to come........

ok, so it just dawned on me that most here have built a motor or at least worked on one b4, so I'll just post a few progress shots of the build without much to say. if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I made this header trophy.....so I could easily get to all sides with the paint.... even after being blasted and cleaned, about half of the paint came off during break-in

I needed somewhere to mount the oilfilter for break-in and starting the motor every week or so until body is back on, so I cut up a homedepot 'L' bracket and drilled some holes to mount it to the heat riser, and here is what I had created.... not to bad (and yes, the breather tube to air cleaner kink has since been fixed)

and here is a short video of the break-in. it wasnt running very good because I had forgotten to connect the carb solenoid. (sorry for video quality, was taken with the point-n-shoot camera)

VIDEO HERE

the front brakes were next (and thats for another update at later time)... the roller chassis seen above the brakes were incomplete up front. thanks for looking

Looks nice. One question, why did you assemble the rest of the engine while it was attached to the tranny? Weight?

thanks for comment. as stated above
