Everyone's favorite Jerry Jess has a brand new toy in the garage..in his own words; It took me over 9 months to close the deal. This is a true show car as the pan is painted to match the body. Has appeared in numerous VW Publications and has won best paint, numerous times. Complete Gene Berg motor with Berg 42s Carbs, Berg shifter, suicide electric doors, Power windows German canvas top, Real air scoops in front of the rear wheel wells, Recarro seats, Custom head lights, billeted rear license holder, Fuchs wheels, lowered front and rear, disc brakes up front. This not only a looker but a very quick 1776 motor.
Nice going Jerry! |

Ignore those that dont understand where this cars from. I have the Trends somewhere around, why is it many slate off the 80s and 90s cars. I know times change, but at least these cars were different and not looking cloned. Are we entering an age of VW style snobbery?
backto89uknostalgia.com for a look at what us Brits used to build in the 80s and 90s. Many based on stateside cars.

| Don't know why you would feel "Bad" about my Ghia.? Like I say it was built in 1993, and still looks good to me. The back is not raised, it is running 185s in the back, and 165s in front. The Ghia is about as low as you can get without the tires hitting the fenders. The fact that the pan matches the body is no big deal. That is what the builder wanted. The decals on the reardeck lid have been removed. I feel it is my good fortune to own this car. It comes with a lot of history, Bless you and Thanks, uj |

| VW trends 1993 June page 50 I am looking for this issue-- Like I said before this is a Vintage Creation. Not bad for a 13 year old car. This will now be driven, chips in the front nose already. Bless all of you and thanks, TWWM, uj |

| Well we have done the best we can do as far as detailing the motor. But if you have any ideas or help it would be appreciated. I noticed the gas cap was a maroon color, so I started to take the paint off, and under the maroon, the paint matched the Ghia!! Why would they paint it maroon if the cap matched the car? anyway all of the paint is off now. |

Hey Jess, Only thing I could recommend is maybe level out that linkage a little and respray the sheet metal infront of the breast plate area as well as the wheel well humps and area beside the engine itself. I think that would really clean up the engine bay a lot and make it look as nice as the outside of the car. Since they added an aluminum base around the engine, I would polish it out unless it is machine finish. :) |

| Well someone has said they might cut two pieces of aluminum for the sides. that is the way it was before someone took the two pieces away. The linkage will be taken care of. It would be cool to get it back to the show car it was. But then again from now on it will be driven.many thanks, TWWM, uj |

| Well the engine compartment has now been painted, linkage has been straightened, and it looks about 100% better. Thanks for the advice. The name on the rear of the Ghia has also been removed. Personalized plate reads OLDGHIA. Fish at Doug's bugs and Bunnies, has the cabs in sync. I am very slowly recovering. Bummer is my life line is most likely shorter. Bless all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I still need them. |

Nothing like the quality of a aftermarket fan shroud. Why can't they get the oil mount and backing plate level? |
