I have a Porsche 914 T4 2.0L crankshaft that is 71mm where I will eventually place this in a stock 1.8L that is being upgraded to 2.0L with 2.0L connecting rods and 96mm P&C and all the needed gaskets, etc. The crankshaft will need a re-grind.
A friend wants to sell me a Porsche 914 2.0L camshaft that he claims is 80mm... is this 80mm camshaft fully compatible with my 71mm crank for a 2.0L? I am assuming that the Cam will also need a re-grind.
Just wondering...
Thanks, Steve

Hi Everett,
Thanks for the reply, I was slightly off on what was described to me...
It is actually a VW Webcam 86b camshaft. When I checked with Web Cam, they said the Cams that would fit a TIV 2.0L are the model 107i for street use or a model 91 for racing. I also found out, as you are already aware, that this cam requires specific lifters from Web Cam.
The botton line is that it will not fit my need.
Thanks for straightening me out.
Regards, Steve |
