Hi everyone,
I am thinking about getting a VW LT campervan and would like to know some more info about them, eg:-
- Gas milage (on both gas and diesel engine ones)
- General things to watch out for (eg. where do they rot)
- What are your experiences with them?

I myself own an '83 LT28 camper, and I'd give it a definite thumbs up. I don't know about the diesel versions, but the 2.0l petrol it runs on is incredibly efficient (it really will astound you). A definite benefit of an LT is also the enormous size - being a big bloke, a bay or something similar is just too small; whereas the LT isn't too cumbersome, yet has easily enough space. Considering I've only had mine a few months, and it's a little worse for wear, I couldn't tell you exactly where the worst rust spots are - but on the body the usual places (around the doors, along the underseam, around the windows) all have their fair share of the wondrous orange stuff. Despite this, it's surprisingly sturdy and will take a serious bashing before it surrenders.
