i am going to Italy in mid Oct and hope to see some vws in Rome. I am going to be with a tour but maybe on a few hours of free time in Rome someone can suggest where to see or meet a few bus folks or where to look for busses. if all else, point me where to get some quality Italian ties at a good price! :)

OBUS, your not gonna see any VW's on the streets of Roma! Unless you see Bobby B and I driving a velvet Green Westy??? I too will be out in Roma during your stay? I don't know the exact dates?? If your looking for nice ties..........you can get them just about anywhere in down town. or every Tuesday and Sunday there is HUGE flea market along side the TEVERE RIVER. I don't know the exact location? I just know how to get there.

Regardless, your gonna have lots of fun. Lots to see out there.

this will be my second time over there. i think i got a few ties at "Harry's Ties" last time. I had a killer block of pizza in Rome last time and i am going to look for that place again a few blocks away from the Spanish Steps. i saw a few fatchicks last time, one by the winery and one in Rome as well as a Joker Vanagon but that was it as far as somewhat older VWs. last time i think we stayed in Ortona by the winery and then at a place called the Capitol Hotel? in Rome. not sure where we will be this time and i think it may be the 18th through the 23rd of Oct. of course a day traveling there and back will be lost! maybe i can see a soccer/football game!

Barndoor is right, dont go to Rome to find VW's. There are none. There are however some badass bitches in Rome.

Yup! Lots of HOT ass chicks! Wait til you walk near Piazza di España, were all the shops are at. Your gonna see insanely hot chicks wearing see through linen pants/shorts/blouses, showing off their G's and Booty's!

funny thing is that i have a pair of those Bono glasses. i am going to have to unretire those things for the trip. :wink: i remember last time i was in Rome there was a girl on a scooter in a hot outfit and when she got off, she took off her helmet and was gorgeous w/ long hair. total supermodel. that was spankbank material at its finest!

p.s.- the Citra winery is in Ortona so i will be there also.

Keep your eyes peeled for a nice Velvet Green and White '65-ish Standard Bus driving around the Tiburtina District. It used to belong to Bobby Hollywood and was the only driving early VW Il Capo and I spotted in Rome when we were there for 10 days back in 2000. There is also a very nice Mouse Grey and White '64 21 that is owned by our good buddy Il Vichingo who also lives in Rome. I'll doubt you'll see that one though as he travels the world for work and is almost never home.

in the abruzzi region on oct 19 and 20 but then off to rome on oct 21 and 22. my hotel in abruzzi region is the Sporting Hotel Villa Maria and then in Rome i will be at Hotel Villa Morgagni. don't know room numbers yet but look me up under "Bucco"

i'd love to see a football/soccer game while in Rome but i am not sure if Roma is home or away and the cost and availability of tickets! i am actually an Inter fan but i would gladly see a Roma game. i am going to take plenty of pics of ladies too unbeknownst to my wife! 8)
