Blasphemy :x !!

(Padded dashes started with '68 - aka "fatchicks")

US spec padded dashes started with 1968 model year. The pad can be removed and the dash can be modded to look like a '67.

Also the way I understand it is that "fatchicks" are super beetles. 68's got the padded dash but aren't supers.

EMPI made a padded dash for 67 and older back in the 70's. no not the empi you see now, rather the old EMPI.

I know Euro spec. models had them.

Early U.S. Spec 67's had the same 67 only front fenders as all U.S. spec 67's, not the Euro style front fenders.

could you make 66 handles work? I've seen people try and sell handles as "66/ 67 handles". is this because I'm gullible or are they wrong????

please help answer this!!!!!!!!

i need keyed handles for my 67!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HerrrKafer Tue Oct 21, 2008 1:52 am

They are wrong, only 67 handles work. 66 rectangular button (early) and 66 round button (late) are interchangeable with each other, neither are interchangeable with 67.

here is a reference picture of the '67 preheater pipes, tins, clips, grommets, etc, all in one place at the same time.

Could you possibly mod a set of '66 doors and put them on a 67 so you could utilize a more abundant handle aftermarket?

Would that cost as much as or more than buying a set of used 67 handle for $100?

Euro 67 Fri Nov 07, 2008 7:17 pm

It's easier to buy the correct handles than mod the 66 handle

Would probably cost more short term...... but in the long run i would be cheaper to replace 66 parts.
