Just wondering if anyone, maybe a East coaster, knows what happened to this 23BD, this pic was taken in 1985, in northern N.H. , someone told me it was the 1st Bus sold in Maine.

The price was $500, thats all I ever found out about it.
Since I had just bought my 1st house ($34,000!!) and had 7 Vws already, I could'nt buy it ](*,)

I thought the door looked later with a mirror arm and big dish stamp.

I would say that too. Another point to reference is the slider glass. It doesn't look like a Barndoor slider latch.

It looks like they may have covered over the semaphores but no other turn signals were added. This seems abnormal.

Im about 99% sure that bus is sitiing in in a shop In Boston Ma area.
Owned By Vw collecter, He still has it and it's not for sale.
The door was of it when i saw it and he said he need one as the door was wrong that came with it.
I was going to trade a him a Drivers door for some other parts I need, But I not so sure I want to part with a Duraclean door.
The rack needs new feet welded on it and he would not part with it.
The bus came from a Maine summer camp.
Crukab I though we talked about this bus at Lichfeild a few years ago when your brought pics of it. I think He was still trying to get the og engine off the seller who was hard to deal with when I talked to him last.

I was able to get as far as the shop where this barndoor jim speaks of was last stored. Apparently the owner now has it somewhere nearby at his home. Maybe if they get the big dig tunnels fixed, jim and I will go hunting again...
