| Call my nuts and put me in the Nut House but I think my '73 beetle is alive. It exhibit's all the signs of being alive. It squirts oil on my grandfather whenever he says something bad about it. Door's open and shut for no reason at all,and the engine starts when there is no key in the ignition!!! I think it's alive. This is a true story... :bug_orange: |

| If it's such a true story, Disney would have made a movie about it. |

I must recommend the following:
Cottage Cheese
one gallon of K-Y
3 packs of NODOZ, or comparable caffeine pill
a phillips screwdriver
a scalpel
14 thimbles
tears extracted from chinese tigers
enough meals for 4 days
a "baby's first" torture beginners kit
a 4 quart bucket
about 7 VW magazines, ads clipped out
1 cheese grater
2 pairs of latex gloves (non-medical grade)
at least 12 rolls of paper towels
GIVE ME 4 DAYS ALONE WITH IT and I will KNOW if it's alive, and make it SHOW it. |

Yes, it is alive indeed. I've seen this before. Shall I fix it for you? |

| Drive it immediately to a train crossing. Take out the keys and wait for a train to come. If it's alive , it will move itself... unless it's really depressed. |

Anarkist, your age is showing.... "Herbie" is a series of 3 or 4 Disney movies made about a beetle that was "alive"
I know the bugs have personality - My 69 bug peed oil all over the car lot when I took it for a trade in. After explaining to bugs that I couldn't take him on my cross- country move, he behaved when I took him in again.
On July 5th, I bought a 76 bug convert (yea :D ) and she would not start when the previous owner walked back into her house. When she came back out and turned the key, the bug started. "Lolly" has all kinds of attitude, and I just love her. |

| Hate on him if you must- I bet all can attest that when you show your cars some love they tend to drive alot better! I have had bugs that ate the love up! 8) |

| One morning on the way to work my '74 bug scared the daylights out of me when it let out a scream. It turned out to be the speedometer cable but I didn't figure it out until I pulled off the road. |

It's called Herbie 3 in the 60's, 1 in the 90's and 1 in 21st century |
