Just curious if anyone think the main home page is loading too slow now because of the many feature ad thumbnails?

Seems fine to me but I'm considering making them permanently display a random # of feature ads from the entire feature ad listing.

No problem on a consistent basis but today it seems response to load any page is slow 50% of the time. One page will take 10 seconds to load, the next will come up instantly.

felt like the server was really slow this morning but generally not a prob since you started it...course, i'd hate to have a 56k load it, if those are still around...lol

Yes, it seemed like one of the servers was slow this morning. I don't really know how many there are running the site, at least 2.

I guess I need feedback from someone at 56Kb or below.

The only problem I have with the feature ads is that on your homepage, the ads seem to extend off the page to the right, forcing me to scroll right to see the whole page.
Now, on the Classifieds page, everything lines up vertically, and I just scroll down to see it all, MUCH NICER!

Is your resolution 800x600 or higher?

800X600 using Mozilla 1.2.1

Internet Explorer works fine, Netscape and Mozilla have the "run off page to the right" problem.

My buddy has a 56k still. OMG it's painful to surf at his place. Your homepage is slow to load on 56k..... but then so is EVERYTHING. Works great at my place.

I'm on 56k and just loaded the home page, worked fine for me.

I did a test on the homepage with a dial up connection (connected at 46.6)

The everything loaded from top to bottom in an orderly fashion. The page except the feature ads loaded in 20 seconds. The feature ads dropped in over the next 23 seconds for a total download time of 43 seconds.

I don't even bother trying to load your site on my Fred Flinstone computer at home since it takes sooooooo long for your newly formatted home page to come up. At work here, with a dsl line, its not a prob. I AM getting anew computer soon, so, hopefully, that'll do the trick...

Yeah, it's probably a memory problem with your home computer.

I have a pretty slow computer (by today's standards) at home and everything loads fine.

i got 56k and everything loads pretty quick, but maybe thats just because im on the site like 3 times a day lol

All of a sudden the feature ads are running clear across the screen for me too. I have no problem with the speed (cable) but the layout is really messy on the home page and on the classifieds home page. I'm running Netscape 7.01
